Today we pay tribute to Mother Mary Frances Rutledge, who departed this life on Saturday March 30, 2019. Mother Mary F. Rutledge was born in Pulaski, Tennessee on April, 1941 to the late Frederick and Margaret Goff.
Mother Mary F. Rutledge attended public schools and graduated in Pulaski, Tennessee. Mother Mary F. Rutledge was united in Holy Matrimony to Elder Edgar Rutledge, Jr. for 63 years. There union was blessed with one son, Maxi Goff (Rose); four girls, Lisa Rutledge-Simmons (Sean), Kelma Goff, Kimberly Goff, and Elizabeth Harper (Kenny).
Mother Mary F. Rutledge attended nursing school and was a nurse at Bordeaux Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Mother Mary F. Rutledge enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mother Mary F. Rutledge, also loved to cook, enjoyed working outside in her flower garden, and was well known as Momma or Mrs. Poochie to some and the entire Buena Vista neighborhood. Most of all Mother Mary F. Rutledge loved the Lord. Mother Mary F. Rutledge was a baptized faithful member of the Jones Tabernacle Primitive Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, up until she moved her membership to Mt. Paran United Primitive Baptist Church where she continued to sing in the choir and served as a mother on the mother board. Mother Mary F. Rutledge served as the President of the Mother’s Union of Ironside United Primitive Baptist Association for over 30 years, until her health begin to fail.
Sadden by her home going but yet rejoicing in her victory, remains her devoted 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, host of cousins, uncles, aunts, and dear friends.
