Age 67 transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Sunday, July 4, 2021.
Deacon Oscar P. Cole Jr. was born to the late Annie Mae Cole and Reverend Oscar P. Cole Sr. on December 26th , 1953, in Nashville, Tennessee. He married Marquita Yvette Starling in 1984. To this union two children were born. The oldest son, Jermale Oscar Cole and youngest son, Jeremy Demorle Cole.
Oscar P. Cole Jr. accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized at First Street Missionary Baptist church on 9th avenue under the leadership the late Reverend Stubberfield in Nashville, Tn then he joined First Street Missionary Baptist Church 1206 Montgomery in 1984 under the leadership of the late Reverend James Armstrong where he became a deacon trainee by the late John H. Young and John W. Young, and officially became a deacon under Reverend Emmanuel Hines. Then later he became the chairman of the deacon board.
He attended Pearl High School in Nashville, Tn, and he graduated in 1971. Then he went on to attend Tennessee State University and majored in Architect and Engineering. Deacon Cole worked for Harvey Dept Store while attending school. Then later he started his career at Vanderbilt University Dinning Service for 42 years. Where he was a supervisor in Rand Hall, The Hendrix Room and Commons. Where he was loved by many of the students and faculty members. Oscar enjoyed working for Vanderbilt and building relationship with everybody from athletes to coaches everybody knew who Big O was on Vandy campus. Oscar really enjoyed going to the sporting events with his sons.
Three of his siblings preceded in his death, William Ester Cole Sr, Issac Cole, Valerie Juliet Cole.
He leaves to cherish his memories to Marquita and their sons, Jermale (Ashlee) Cole and Jeremy Cole; grandkids, Jada, Josh, Jayce; sister, Gearldine Cole; along with a host of nieces, nephews, devoted friends, and The First Street Family.
