Alexander Sledge Age 52 of Nashville transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Monday, December 29, 2014. Survived by loving family & friends. Complete obituary later.

Alexander Sledge was born on June 11, 1962 in the Southside Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of David T. Sledge and Helen L. Williams Sledge.
He received his education in the public schools of Cook County, Illinois and also received his Political Science Degree from Tennessee State University. Alexander accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior as a youth.
During his pursuit of his education he met and married Katrina Carter Northern and through this union was blessed with two children and enjoyed a loving relationship for 29 years.
Alexander was known to never meet a stranger greeting everyone with his “megawatt smile”, whether at church, in the community or on the job. He loved his church family and enjoyed volunteering his time at the Family Life Center. He took great joy in positively impacting the youth in the Upward Basketball Program.
On Monday, December 29, 2014, he is preceded in death his by father David T. Sledge and brother, Sherwin Sledge.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Katrina Sledg; daughter, Alexis Sledge; son, Johnathan Sledge; grandchild, Keira Jennelle; mother, Helen Sledge and sister, Shelia Sledge; as well as a host of cousins, friends and the Parkway Baptist Church Family.
