Alma was a genuine prototype of woman and it would be difficult to encounter a being that nurtured, protected, and cherished the well-being of her family and people in general more than she. Her faith was undisputed and that faith was firmly grounded and her roots are set at Lee Chapel AME Church in Nashville, TN. She later joined First Community Church led by Reverend Harold Simmons where she enjoyed becoming a member of the Pearl Dailey Missionary Society, sharing her ministry of providing cards for sick, shut-ins, bereaved families, birthdays, and etc. (this was a gift of ministry that Alma carried with her until her passing).
Alma received her secondary education in the Metropolitan-Davidson County Public School System. She graduated with her high school diploma from Haynes High School in Nashville, TN. Afterwards, she attended Tennessee State University where she obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate. Subsequently, she was employed at Meharry Medical Hospital of Nashville, TN in the Surgery Department.
During her journey, Alma relocated from Nashville to Chicago, Illinois. It was in Chicago she was employed at Cook County Hospital for 25 years. It was there, in Bolingbrook, IL, God called Alma home and she transitioned from this life on April 11, 2017. She will not only be greatly missed, but her legacy will be even that much more preserved in our hearts always.
