Anne Gertrude Teasley, 104 Ann Gertrude Teasley passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, at the remarkable age of 104.
She was born on April 26, 1920, in Dixon, Tennessee, to Lee and Bessie Swett. Ann was the 5th of 13 children. Raised in Dixon, Ann carried with her the values of strength, resilience, and love that she imparted to all who knew her. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her gentle spirit, great sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to her family and community—qualities that endeared her to everyone around her. She was a dedicated Jehovah Witness for over 54 years.
Ann had a passion for gardening that was truly exceptional. Her special skill in cultivating plants allowed her to grow beautiful, huge, and bountiful tomatoes, which she took great pride in. She was also an expert in canning and preserving, often creating and saving cherished recipes that have been passed down through the generations.
In 2014, her son Darrell moved back to Tennessee to take care of his aging mother. He has done a remarkable job over the past 10 years, providing unwavering support and care until her peaceful passing.
Ann is survived by her children: her first son, Albert Teasley, and his wife, Margaret Teasley, of Columbia City, Oregon; her daughter, Mildred Yatt, of Dallas, TX; her daughter, Linda Cato, of Tennessee; her son, Howard Teasley, and his wife, Cindy Teasley, of Ellensburg, Washington; her daughter, Sheila Teasley-Holmes, of Tennessee; and her son, Darrell Teasley, of California. Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charter L. Teasley. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched over her long and fulfilling life.
