Annie “Ann” Horner Dangerfield entered eternal rest at Skyline Medical Center, surrounded by family, on February 6, 2023.
Ann received her education in the public school system of Nashville, TN, where she graduated from Cameron High School in 1964. For most of her career, she worked for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools and Meharry Medical College. She retired from Metro Schools in December 2007, when she became Nana to Madison.
Ann accepted Christ at an early age as a member of the Church of the Living God, CWFF, where she was a member of the Usher Board and the Aires of Harmony. In 2000, she became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Joseph Walker III. She participated in the Women's Ministry.
Ann adored the title, Momma. When asked what her purpose was, she replied, "to be Momma'. She was called Momma by many because she loved everyone for who they were with such authenticity and warmth.
Ann leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Lacrecia and LaVita Dangerfield, Melissa (Dawson) Braden, granddaughter Madison Braden and Jerrel (LeQuita) Horner. Siblings: Mary Horner, James Horner, Arnita McAdoo, Esta Golden, and Pompie Horner III. In-Laws: William (Emma) Dangerfield, Hildred Jones of Fayetteville, and Bobbie Jean Dangerfield. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bonus children and grandchildren: Davonne Jinks, Eric Milton, Marcus Dean, Rashad Dean and Calandria Williams, and many more.
