Bernice Marie Lawrence Guthrie also known as “Bunny or Ms. Bea” was born May 13, 1943 to the late Jimmie Lawrence and Thomas Lewis Coure Sr. in Nashville, TN.
She proceeded in death with her siblings: Cordia Antoinette Hart and Charles Coure. She transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life Sunday January 20, 2019.
Bernice was educated in Davidson County Public Schools. She was a proud graduate of Cameron High School where she was one of the popular cheerleaders.
Sister Guthrie professed hope in Christ at an early age where she served faithfully at Mt Sinai P.B. Church. She also served in the National P.B. Convention, TN State Convention, Tri State Convention, Sunday School Convention, and Cumberland Association. She was a servant who did not mind serving where she was needed.
She enjoyed dancing, bowling, cooking, singing, and most of all telling people to “shake a bush”, which was her favorite saying.
She leaves to cherish her memories with her loving and devoted daughters, LaQuita (Troy) Holbert and Krystal Johnson; Brothers, Thomas Coure Jr, Bro. William (Brenda) Coure, and Ann Fleming; Grandchildren, Yasmine Overton, Cannon Hill, Natalya Overton, Curtis L. Holbert, Lakresha Holbert, Meshach Adams, Jevonna Holbert, and Valecia Puckett; Devoted friend, Virginia Fitzgerald, and a host of Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
