Mrs. Bernice Beatrice Paschall Smith, age 89 transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Sunday, November 1, 2020.

Bernice Beatrice Paschall Smith was born in Nashville Tennessee to James Osborne and Minnie Paschall. Both parents preceded her in death along with her brothers, Harold, Theodore, Charles, Julius, and Paul and sisters, Roberta and Mable. Sons Calvin Bernard and Gary Allen. Grandson Mitchell Smith and great grandson Deshaun Sawyer.

She was born on July 30, 1931 and departed this life on Sunday November 1, 2020.

Bernice was educated in Nashville's Public school system. She was married on April 14, 1947 to James Nathanial Smith and she bore five children. James Jr., Calvin Bernard, Ralph Eugene, Rosilyn Diane and Gary Allen.

Bernice was very spirited and loved joking around with her children and grandchildren. She helped to raise several of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who loved her dearly. She was a good cook and loved to see folks enjoy her cooking. She was a very caring and giving person. She was lovingly known as "Grannie" to most everyone that knew her.

Bernice leaves to cherish her memory sons James Jr. and Ralph Eugene, and daughter Rosilyn Diane Jordan. Also, sisters Louise Thompson, Doris Clark, and Gloria Bell. One daughter-in-law, Vivian Smith. Grand children Reggie Smith, Teria (Rico) Bayse, Laura Jean Smith, David Smith,Tiffany Johnson, Ralph Smith Jr., DeShawn Smith, Dallas LaGuadia Smith, LaDante Montez Smith, Quiayani Smith, Lakisa Smith, Ricardo Clay and Diedra Clay. Also a host of great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Care givers Doris Tiggs, Joe Smith, Donna Smith, John Peebles, and Janee Haynes.
