Age 59, Nashville transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life.
Bernita Faye Rivers-Wiley was born May 26, 1957 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Tommy Lee Rivers Sr., and surviving Betty Ruth Cain. She was the second eldest to nine children.
Bernita expressed a hope in Christ as she grew in age and was a profound member of Cathedral Pentecostal Church in Nashville. She graduated from North High School in Nashville, Tennessee in 1976. After graduation, she attained a Business Concentration Degree from MTSU and Mason Business College. She pursued her profession and went on to work at Hubbard Hospital and Meharry Medical College as an Administrative Assistant for numerous years, until eventually retiring to become a full-time mother because her children meant the world to her.
Bernita had a Heart of Gold and a Carefree Spirit about herself that made people love to be in her presence. She was fully devoted to her family and friends, and would do anything at any given time for them.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four children: Corey (Brooklyn) Rivers, Gregory (Shawnda) Wiley Jr., Brittaney Wiley and Brandon Wiley; four sisters, Rhonda (Robert) Leek, Tangela (Sammy Rutherford deceased) Rutherford, Tommia Rivers-Cunningham (Cerman Cunningham deceased), and Tara Rivers; Four Brothers, Tommy Rivers Jr., Reginald (Vicki) Rivers, Michael Cain, Tommie Rivers, Five grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
