“The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord”
Mrs. Bettie Sharpe Easley, was born October 14, 1924, to late Mr. Alfred Sharpe Sr. and the late Mrs. Mattie Sharp Willis. She departed from this life on November 1, 2023.
She was one of eight children born in which six preceded her in death. Naomi Petty, Ruth Johnson, Justine Sutton, Alice Wiseman, Alfred Sharpe Jr., and Seth Sharpe.
She was married to the late, William Frank Betty Sr, to this union three children were born: Anna Betty, Deborah Betty (Jeffery) Jones and the late William F. Betty Jr.
She later in life married James Easley where they resided in Louisville, Kentucky which to this union she gained a stepson, Ray Reagan.
She received her education in the public schools of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County. She attended A& I college now known as Tennessee State University. She was an excellent seamstress, liked deep sea fishing and quilting and she was known for her love of making curtains and clothes for friends and family.
She was raised in Gordon Memorial Methodist Church and later became a member of Kayne Avenue Baptist Church, with her final church home being N Street Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky where she served as a loyal and faithful member until her health failed.
She was a loving mother sister and devoted aunt, who will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.
She was employed by Allen’s and Barton’s department stores and later she worked for Three Sister’s and Learner’s Clothing Stores divisions of Miller’s and Wool’s for 50 years as a window dresser, creating attractive displays for the store front windows. After her retirement, she picked up a hobby working at the Nashville Fairground Flea Market.
She leaves to cherish her memories one brother, Walter Sharpe; two daughters, Anna Betty, and Deborah Betty (Jeffery) Jones; four grandchildren, Quinton Betty, Ryan Betty, DeAnna Armstrong, and Ralph Armstrong (Little); two daughters-in-law, Deborah Wells Laws and Khadija Cabey.
Devoted family friend Cynthia Reynolds, Gerald and Algie Robertson, Doris Fuller, Grace Mason, also also devoted devoted friends from Louisville, Kentucky, Jaquetta Greenlee, Marie Bradford, Fernando Wright and Judy Coleman.
