Betty S. Preston, affectionately called "Betty Sue" and "Granny Betty" was born on July 17, 1940 to the late James and Ruby Clendenning in Nashville, TN.
She was educated in Nashville Public Schools. She retired from Nashville's Riverbend Maximum Security Institution where she worked as an Administrative Assistant. She was a member of St. Luke Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where she served on the Usher Board. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Preston, Jr., her sister, Evelyn Adkins, and her brothers, James and Harold Clendenning.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her children, James (Jackie) Preston and Jerome Preston; eight loving grandchildren, James (Angela) Preston, Tawana (Nathanial) Farahkhan, Kateshia Dobbins, Tina Preston, Mikia (Jeffrey) Preston-Howard, Jheria Preston, Jciara Preston, and Dominique Broussard; nineteen great grandchildren, her devoted sister, Ann Dunn, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends.
