Bettye Marie Bonner

August 25, 1936 — October 14, 2018

Bettye Marie Bonner was born in Pulaski, Tennessee, Giles County to Eugene and Arlie Cotham. Bettye was the 6th of 9 children. She departed this life on October 14, 2018.

Bettye was united with St. Luke CME.

Bettye was educated in the Giles County School System. She was a graduate of Bridgeforth High School, Class of 1955. After high school she furthered her education and attended Tennessee State University (A&I) where she received her Associates Degree in nursing.

She married Jordan Bonner, Sr. in 1955.

Bettye was employed with Parkview and Bordeaux Hospitals until her retirement. She enjoyed shopping, music, and reading but most of all she loved helping people.

Bettye is preceded in death by her sons, Marvin Wayne and Jordan Bonner, Jr.; grandson, Jordan Bonner, III and brother, James Cotham.

Bettye leaves to cherish her memory, a loving son; Ricky K. (Elaine) Bonner; grandchildren, Andrea (Bennie) Brazelton-Johnson, Cheryl Bonner, Rikita (DeAndre) Gibson, Angela, Tyia, Aaliyah Bonner; nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; sisters, Eula Mae Sowell, Sarah Moutry, Patricia Cotham; brothers, Marvin, Roy, Howard, and Eugene Cotham, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
