Our Brother Bobby Gary Hammonds was born November 5, 1941 in Pulaski, Tennessee to Deacon Vacie Hammonds, Sr. and Mother Clora Nelson Hammonds. On July 10, 2017 God called Brother Hammonds to rest.
Brother Hammonds attend school at Bridgeforth High School. He joined the United States Air Force on October 25, 1960, and retired after 22 years of service on February 28, 1982 from Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois.
While serving his country, Bobby met and wed Shelia A. Brown Hammonds on February 1, 1969. Unto this union was born one daughter. After many years of marriage, they went their separate ways.
Brother Hammonds was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon Vacie Hammonds Sr., and Mother Clora Nelson Hammonds; four brothers, James McKinley, Olice Hammonds, Van Hammonds, Sr., and Vacie Hammonds, Jr.
Brother Hammonds leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted daughter, Gail Hammonds of Nashville, TN; one devoted sister, Eunice Hammonds Tucker of Nashville, TN; two brothers, William Thomas Hammonds of Pulaski, TN., and Roger Hammonds of Nashville, TN; four sisters-in law, Margaret Hammonds, Mae Frances Hammonds, Alma Jean Hammonds and Louise Phillips; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; devoted friends, Anthony J. Merriweather of St. Louis, MO, Willie Mack Miller of Jackson, TN and Mary Jones of Pulaski, TN; a very special devoted friend of many years, Henrietta Rivers; two step daughters, Rosette (Marcus) Smith and Paulette Dailey; five devoted step grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
