Carolyn Winfrey Anthony, Age 64 of Nashville transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.


CAROLYN WINFREY ANTHONY was born on January 21, 1959, in Somerville, Tennessee to the late Jesse and Annie Winfrey. On Tuesday, July 4, 2023 God called Carolyn to rest. She was a graduate of Fayette-Ware High School in Somerville, Tennessee and attended Tennessee State University where she majored in Speech Pathology. Carolyn was employed at United Methodist Publishing House and as a successful entrepreneur. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jesse Winfrey, Jr., James Winfrey and Augusta Winfrey. Carolyn professed a faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Russell Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Somerville, Tennessee.


She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, William R. Anthony, 4 sons; Attorney Brian C. Winfrey, William R. Anthony II, Brandon Anthony and Torrance Anthony; 4 sisters, Dorothy (Rodney) Harrison, Wardine (Larry) Couch, Gwendolyn (Junell) Dunlap and Janice (Edmon’) Thomas; 4 brothers, David (Annie) Winfrey, T. J. Winfrey, Benjamin Winfrey and Kenneth Winfrey. She also leaves a devoted sister-in-law, Margaret J. Winfrey and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and a very special and loyal friend, Beverly Moss Brown.
