Carolyn Marie Roper

Carolyn Marie Roper gained her wings on September 25, 2015 while being attended by family at her home in Antioch, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. C. Roper; son, James Cooper; and sister, Doris Benson.
Ms. Carolyn was born on May 25, 1945 to the late Lillian Ewing and William Smith. She was then adopted by the late Arthur and Ethal Ramsey. In 1967 she married to the late L. C. Roper.
Carolyn received her formal education through the Davidson County Public School System. She enjoyed working as a school patrol officer for many years. Ms. Carolyn was later employed at Lowes Vanderbilt Hotel for a decade before retiring in 2008.
In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, watching horror movies, playing solitaire, giving us a laugh about past memories, and spending time with family and friends. She had a heart made of gold and will be loved for eternity.
Carolyn will forever be remembered by her brothers, Ernest “Gene” Smith, Raymond Ewing, Gary Lyons, and James Lyons; sisters, Patricia “Pat” Ewing, Patricia Bluing, Barbara Lockridge, Pamela Lyons, and Janice Sloss; children, Maurice (Sonia) Cooper, Gary (Linda) Cooper, Lawanda Roper, Sheila Roper, Pamela Roper, and Shanta Roper; grandchildren, Kiana, Robert L., Janai, William, Cortez, Alante, Robert R., and Sean; great grandchildren, Markell, Katelyn, Aubree, and London; truly devoted friend, Ms. Ludie Redmon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation Saturday October 3, 2015 from 11:00 am-12 noon with service to follow at Highland Hills Funeral Home, 2422 Brick Church Pike.

Interment Greenwood Main Cemetery.
