Cassandra Faye Burton was the first child born to the union to Gloria Eldridge Burton and Ernest Lee Burton, Jr. on September 29, 1965 in Huntsville, AL. She moved from labor to reward on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. Early in her childhood she was affectionately known as Faye to her family and friends.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age under the leadership of her grandfather, the late Pastor L. F. Lacy at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL. After returning to Nashville, Faye united Mt. Moriah Community Baptist Church under the ministry of Bishop Hal Robinson, Jr.
Faye was educated in both the Huntsville City School and Metro Nashville Public school systems. In 1983, she graduated from Glencliff High School, Nashville, Tennessee. She worked in the manufacturing field for many years. She loved peo-ple and her quite spirit made her a friend to all. Because of life struggles, Faye had medical battles to fight but she endured and always kept a sweet disposition and determination to overcame many of her battles with the Lords help.
Faye was preceded in death by her grandparents: Ernest Burton, Sr., Lucille Bur-ton, Ester Copeland Lacy, Pastor Loyace F. Lacy, Sr., and Step-father, Ricky Saw-yers.
