Cherritta Atkins was born on May 24, 1969 in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Guy “Bobby” Atkins and Joyce Atkins. She transitioned from this life on March 3, 2016.
Cherritta received her education in the Davidson County Public School System. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Tennessee State University. Upon completion of this degree, Cherritta became a licensed registered nurse. As a nurse, she positively touched the lives of those she served most especially her dear niece, Gabby.
Having lived her entire 46 years of life in Nashville, Tennessee, Cherritta had a positive effect on her family, friends and community. She always had a loving and kind smile for everyone. With her beautiful smile and kind heart, she was ever optimistic, uplifting positive, leaving those who came in contact with her better people for having known her. Cherry exuded a quiet strength of character and will that kept everyone around her on an even keel and wanting to be better people.
Our angel leaves to cherish her passing her husband, Chibuike Ukeje, her three devoted sons, Johnathan Jerel Atkins, Nicholas Khalil Atkins, Joshua Jamal Atkins, and one loving daughter, Kiara Marie Atkins-Ukeje, her father, Guy “Bobby” Atkins, her loving mother, Joyce Atkins, her devoted and loving sister, Urushla LaPriesta Atkins, one dear niece, Gabrielle (Gabby) Chenese Chatman, one caring nephew, Gordon Craig Chatman, Jr. two aunts, Dessie B. Foster and Patricia W. Brunson of Memphis, Tennessee, a host of loving cousins, devoted friends, as well as, a very dear and special friend, Stephen Parrott of Chicago, Illinois.
