Shortly after midnight on December 14,2014, Christy Lee (Long) Reynolds of Franklin, TN, formerly of Wichita, KS, completed her journey on earth and went to spend eternity with her Savior in Heaven.
She graduated from Wichita East High School in 1961 and married the love of her life, Wayne, on November 13, 1964. The love she had for her family was unmatched. Another great love of Christy's was Kansas University Basketball.
Christy was preceded in death by her parents: George and Besselee (Lowery) Long, Sterling and Barbara (Danford) Reynolds, and Janie Mae (Kelly) Reynolds; her brothers: Richard Long and Martin Long; her sisters: Karen Pepper and Myrna Long; and four nephews and a niece.
She is survived by her devoted husband of more than 50 years, Wayne S. Reynolds; three children: Michelle (Steve) Sabados of Nashville, TN, Lisa Hartley of Amarillo, TX and Troy (Kelly) Reynolds of Shawnee, KS; her sisters: Ike Cantrell, Georgeann Gray, Jualita (Don) Perdue, Renda (Erwin) Parish, Shirley Long; her brothers: Wally Long, Steve Reynolds, Manson (Ginny) Reynolds; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Christy's greatest joys were her twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends in Tennessee will be held at Harpeth Community Church in Franklin, TN on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.
A final Celebration of Life for friends and family in Kansas will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Wichita, KS on May 8, 2015 at 10:30 AM.
