Clara Corinna Kelly

Clara Corinna Kelly was born in Nashville Tennessee on August 7th 1935 to the late Will Mitchell and Lula Booker Mitchell Preceded in death by her children, Sheila Ann Kelly, Elroy Kelly Jr., and Jerome Kelly.


Clara professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age, has been a faithful member of Jackson Street Church of Christ; until her health began to fail. She always gave honor and praise to her Heavenly Father. She trusted  in the Living Word of God and enjoyed reading her bible. The Foundation of Faith was never shaken.


Clara was educated in the Davidson County Public Schools. She work in Food Service for many years and later retired from Loews Vanderbilt Plaza Hotel.


Clara loved all kinds of music you would catch her moving to the sound and singing along to her favorite gospel songs. Clara's favorite quote: CALL ON HIM.
In the midst of adversities and illness she still managed to smile and was always ready for a good laugh. She knew somehow the Lord will make a way. She enjoyed meeting new people and enjoyed laughter and family gatherings. Clara always had a sense of humor. She also enjoyed talking long hours on the telephone to her family and friends on a daily basis. Clara was outspoken, and quick to express herself.


Clara was one individual that didn't let grass grow under her feet, she was always on the go and enjoyed riding around town sightseeing on scenic routes with her Honey, Sam the two were inseparable.


She also loved planting flowers and pruning her yard. She often looked forward to Sunday dinners with her grandchildren; she loved her some good food neck bones and cornbread was her favorite. A bag of Cheetos could get her to do anything. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.


She leaves to cherish her memories, brothers, John A. (Doris) Mitchell, Huntsville, Alabama, and Clifton Mitchell, Jackson, LA; devoted friend & Companion, Samuel Johnson; grandchildren: devoted granddaughter & Caregiver, Ebony Kelly,  Jermaine (Diedre) Kelly, LA California ,Tekka' Kelly, Barry (Shalonda) Kelly, and Cornelius Williams; great grandchildren, Asia Kelly, James Holmes Jr. Jerilyn Kelly, Jervonne Kelly, Jermaine Kelly Jr, Jeremy Kelly, Shandre' Kelly, Dreshan Kelly, and Kindrea Kelly;
great great grandchildren, Cameron Loving, Khalil Loving, and Tristan Jarvis; devoted nieces, Dr. Sherrell (Minus) Batey, Janice Norman, Linda Brown, and Barbara Johnson; nephews, Readus Carter LA  Califorina, Michael Mitchell-Moore, Travis, Phillip, Harold Mitchell  and a host of great nieces, nephews and friends.
