Connett Claxton Lockett born July 5, 1962 in Nashville TN. Connett was the eighth of nine children.
Born to the late James Lockett Sr. and Marjorie Storey-Lockett. He was educated in the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Cleveland Street Baptist Church.
Connett was a loving father, husband, brother and uncle.
Mr. Lockett was united in Holy Matrimony to Sherron Williams April 30, 2010. Preceded in death by, daughter, Deonna Ballentine Lockett; grandson, Keon Lockett; brothers, William C. Lockett , and Milton Lockett; sister, Pearl Lockett King McClain; nephews, James Nevels and Milton Murray.
He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories wife, Sherron Williams; son, Connett E. Lockett; daughters, Shanitra, Tasha, DeChandra and DeAndra Lockett, Tishea and Billey (Zaida) Williams, Antonio and Torie Bradley; grandchildren, Kemonte, Xavior, Xavion, Keiondra and Ran-Nitra Lockett and Khylin Lane; brother, James (Brenda) Lockett Jr., brother-in-law, Reverend Ronald (Louise) Williams; sisters, Lenora Lockett Peoples, Mildred (Larry Sr.) Patton, Ruby (Herman) Lockett Ahiatsi, and Valerie Lockett; sister-in-law, Patricia (Tommy) Carter; nieces, Katherine (Paul) Mastin, LaToya Nevels, Legressa Toney, Latricia Wilson, Pamela Dunlap, Lynda Gayle Patton, Chantelle (Brent) Jackson, Wanda Lockett, Shandra Nunn and Victoria Curry; nephews, Edward (Gina) Todd, Wendell King Jr., James Mayo, William Lockett, Ashley Wilson, Milton Lockett Jr., Thomas Murray, Larry E. Jr. (Tiffany) Patton, William Osborne, David Jr (Lauren) Nunn, Mark Nunn and Robert T. Curry Jr. and a host of great nieces and nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM with funeral to follow Saturday, January 3, 2014 at Highland Hills Funeral Home, 2422 Brick Church Pike. The Homegoing Celebration will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment Greenwood West Cemetery.
