Minister Coren Lamar Newborn

January 14, 1982 — July 26, 2001

Minister Coren Lamar Newborn was born January 14, 1982 to the late Washington Newborn Jr. and Belinda Newborn in Jersey City, NJ. He accepted the Lord at age ten baptized by the late Pastor Fred Conley of Holy Trinity MB Church. Coren attended Metro Nashville Public Schools graduating from Stratford Comprehensive High School class of 2000 and entered Fisk University later transferred to attend Int’l Academy of Design and Technology (IADT). He received his bachelors of science in Fashion Design and Merchandising. Currently he was attending Grand Canyon University Phoenix, AZ. studying world mission and bible study and made the dean’s list each semester. He preached his first sermon on May 19, 2019 and answered his call three months prior. Coren’s heart extended past his personal family as he worked for seven years as a Direct Support person to more than ten individuals who he treated as a part of his own family. Everyone loved him and appreciated his listening ear and caring heart. He was certified as a medication and direct support technician for developmentally disabled individuals and those who were in a community living support CLS who otherwise would have been in nursing home facilities. In his spare time, he had the pleasure as Uncle to his nieces and nephews. Music, reading, and creating with his hands was his greatest enjoyments. He always loved being around family and friends. In his spare time, he would like to watch movies and go swimming. Coren truly loved the Lord and a favorite scripture he was taught by his mother at an early age Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
