Corey DeJuan Perry born June 7, 1983 and departed this life Friday, April 14, 2017.
He was the son of Rhonda E. Dial and Michael Perry and the brother of Shawn Collins.
Corey confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Meharry Blvd Church of God, Sanctified under the leadership of Bishop Jerry E. Gordan. He also attended Christ Fellowship Church in Palm Beach Garden while living in Florida. Corey participated in the Girls and Boys Club of Nashville, TN while growing up and received training as a counselor and instructor to give back to his community.
Corey attended and graduated from Pearl-Cohen High School as an honor student and received several scholarships to attend Florida A&M University. He completed his student internship at Mary McCloud Bethune Elementary School where he was eventually hired and then received a Bachelor degree in 2005. Then he went on to teach at Howard L. Watkins Middle School in West Palm Beach, Florida. Corey was a Math, Science and Robotics instructor. He was voted as Teacher of the Year for four consecutive years.
Corey Perry was a loving person. He devoted his life to his students and career. He was loved by everyone. He did many kind deeds for his students by ensuring that they all had clothing and shoes and a friendly smile. He was a father-figure to many children. He was also a family person. He loved his and his family loved him. He will be sadly missed.
Corey was preceded in death by his nephew, Dallas Lingston Deshawn Cato; grandparents, Marvin & Dorothy Davis; and aunt, Edna Jones
He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Rhonda E. Dial; father, Michael Perry; brother, Shawn (LaAngelia) Collins; devoted grandmother, Lorene Fenton; aunts, Victoria (Micheal) Hall, Sumayya (John) Coleman, Belinda (Julius) Jones and Brenda (Ronnie) Terrell; uncles, Corrice (Deborah) Dial, Roland (Bridgett) Dial, Jr, Michael Dial and Anthony (Bridget) Davis; nieces, Kejuana and Erionna Collins; nephew, Larnell Collins; a host of other relatives and friends; devoted foster parents, Ellen (Dick) Jewel; devoted friends, Mr. and Mrs. Fielding Jewell; foster son, B.J. Wilson.
