Corrinn Elizabeth Swanson Sloss was born June 15, 1946, to the late Lewis and Katie Swanson. She was baptized into Catholicism in 1946. She was educated in Nashville at Holy Family and St. Vincent DePaul schools and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1964. She continued her education at Tennessee State University.
Corrinn was united in matrimony to the late Samuel Henry Sloss, Jr. and this union was blessed with three children, Samuel III, Angela, and Christina. She worked at Genesco, and later at UPS in data entry until her retirement. After retirement, she worked as a Foster Grandparent at Napier Elementary School and Rocketship School Northeast, and she thoroughly enjoyed working with the children.
Corrinn loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved spending time and talking on the phone for hours with her twin sister Constance. Corrin enjoyed cooking. Her specialty were her delicious homemade rolls. She was a member of the Aristocratic Ladies Social Club as well as the Red Hatters, Prissy Ladies.
She leaves to honor and cherish her memory, son Samuel, III (devoted daughter in law Traci), daughters, Angela and Christina, five grandsons, DeRay Sloss, Jeremy Armstrong, Christopher Sloss, DeAnte’ (Precious) Sloss, Gregory Armstrong, Jr., 11 great grandchildren, sister Constance Swanson, brother Arthur Swanson, devoted niece Maria (Carlton) Horton, Goddaughters Jasmine, Janee’ and Jalynn Horton, Joye Rucker, devoted friends, Gladys Blake, Lula Cunningham, Faye Williams and Hazel Shaw, a host of nieces and nephews, family friends and loved ones.
Public Viewing with the family February 27 3-6 p.m. at Highland Hills Funeral Home 2422 Brick Church Pike.
Visitation February 28th,10 a.m. at Saint Patrick Catholic Church 1219 2nd Ave South Funeral at 11, Interment Veterans Cemetery, Pegram, TN.
