Daphne Mcdaniel

March 30, 1971 — November 1, 2021

“When Jesus is my portion. A constant friend is He. His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches over me”

The world lost a great fighter, advocate and servant of humanity on November 1st, 2021 in the person of Daphne Lea’ Casey McDaniel. Daphne stepped into time on March 30, 1971. She is the daughter of Donna Sparks Casey, Mitchell Tatum and James Casey Sr. all of whom proceeded her in death. Along with her parents she is also proceed in death by her sister Sheila Lusk.

Daphne was a believer in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Victory International Life Changing Ministries under the leadership of Pastor James Dunn. She graduated from Hardin County High School in 1989. Daphne also completed Cosmetology Training at John A. Logan Junior College in Carterville, Illinois.

On March the 18th 1990 Daphne would meet Terry L. McDaniel at Muse Park in Jackson, Tennessee. The two would become one in holy matrimony and their union would be blessed with two daughters, Tiara and Tiana.
Daphne was a former Nashville DJ who was known on WVOL as Old School Soul Baby; hosting The Weekend Warrior Show. Daphne was employed as a commissioned officer at the former Baptist Hospital in the Security Department and also served as an officer with the Corrections Corporation of America.

Daphne was a genuine giver. It mattered not if she had a little or if she had plenty; she was always willing to do whatever she could to help someone else. Many people can be a witness to the generosity of her and her husband as they would open their home to friends and family that may have lost their way or just simply needed a chance to start over again. To say she could cook would be an understatement – DAPHINE COULD COOK! When she was complimented about her delicious meals she would simply reply “I got it from my Mama”.

She leaves to cherish precious memories; a devoted husband Terry L. McDaniel, two daughters Tiara McDaniel and Tiana McDaniel. Grandchildren, Chloe, Nolan and Mason Cartwright, Sister’s Kimberly (Nat K.) Cole, Toni Tatum, Amber Tatum (Michigan City IN.), Paula Tatum, Brandi Tatum, Jasmine Tatum and Shannon Tatum.
