Darick Dwayne Slaughter

August 10, 1991 — August 23, 2023

Clarksville

Darick Dwayne Slaughter departed this life suddenly on August 23, 2023.

Darick AKA Duski, Du Dirty, Lil Darick, Coach D, CM Duski, Detry etc the list goes on and on because all of them was whom we knew and loved.

Darick was granted his wings at the age of 32 just a few days after his day of birth. Darick entered this earthly life on August 10, 1991, to his parents Darick Alan Hardin and Deloris Jean Slaughter.

Darick was the oldest but always considered himself the baby as to his relationship with his parents a true sentiment to the statement Daddy/Mommas Boy. He was a doting father, brother and friend. He had a love for life that was unmeasurable. Darick attended and graduated from Whites Creek Comprehensive High School and graduated in 2009. He played Football and Basketball and had a love for both sports.  Darick was first introduced to football at the early age of 5 where he played for Gra-Mar Pirates. He transformed from a troubled kid that stayed in trouble at school to an athlete that was an amazingly talented person. Darick began his basketball journey at H. G. Hill Middle School.

His love of the game grew as the team nicknamed him Lil Kobe and thus he wore his #8 jersey with pride. After graduating Darick attended TSU where he was a backup.

Darick became a father and with the birth of each child he grew to become the father he was meant to be. He found his purpose for living, for being and the for life he had almost given up on. Darick had many aspirations and goals and he was tackling each of them one by one with the love and support of his family and friends.

Darick set out to get his CDL license for truck driving. He completed that and passed that test. Darick wanted to be a Football coach so he did what was required to get his Certification.  He wanted to become a Chef and though he wasn't able to accomplish that goal he was a beast in the kitchen. He took pride in his cooking and his food was well prepared and enjoyed.

Darick was a FAMILY MAN & for him it was always Family Over Everything. His love and dedication to his family was impeccable.  Darick loved his children and he knew that they were special in ways others wouldn't understand.

Darick was very charismatic and a man of many many talents. He was a musical lyricist, rhyming on a word like the best in the business.  He was a choreographer with all the right moves.  He was standup comic, whom also enjoyed Roasting.  Still holding the title for "Looking A$$"! As witty and charming as he was he was always just Lil Darick. The one whom made his presence known upon arrival. Darick done a 180 with his life and had chosen God for guidance.  He was truly a gift to all whom met and loved him. Darick was someone whom if you ever had a conversation with him, there was a lasting impression left on you. Darick will truly be missed by all.

Darick is preceded in death by grandparents, Douglas (Vesta) Hardin, Alvin (Deborah) Wilson and Michael Kinnard Sr., aunt, Keesha Kinnard, and cousin, Charlisha Davis whom he will be laid to rest next to.

Darick leaves to cherish his memory a devoted mother, Deloris Slaughter; father, Darick (Mylinda) Hardin; siblings, DeSilas Slaughter Sr., Sydney Ferguson, Deb-Brianna Slaughter, Darriona Slaughter-Hardin, Deonna Pride, Zury Slaughter, Shania Ferguson, Zawdie Pride Jr and Cameron Slaughter; children, Aubrielle Mitchell, Darick Slaughter Jr., Dakota Slaughter and Malcolm Long; uncles, Shawn Hardin, Kevin Hardin, Calvin (Terrie) Hardin, Harold Osborne, Michael Kinnard, Myron (Ebony) Kinnard, Antonio (Myka) French and Vernon Smith; aunts, Lynn Hardin, Holly Hardin, Alvecia (Linwood) Hawkins, Tameka (Lashawn) Rembert, Demetrice French and Alecia French; nieces and nephews, Brooklyn Davis, DeSilas Slaughter Jr, Regan Davis, Ah'Riah Buchanan, Aurielle Slaughter, De'Auri Slaughter, Kamille Ferguson, Ka'Loni Ferguson, Cerenitie Slaughter-Hardin and Elyjah Slaughter-Hardin; cousins, Lakeesha Kinnard , Timothy Slaughter, Roger Slaughter, Latesha Kinnard, Miracle Slaughter, Vernon Kinnard, lifelong partner, Bianca Newson;  many other devoted relatives, and friends; devoted boys, Bordeaux Eagles football team.
