Darrell Leon Garrett was born October 16, 1956 in Nashville, Tennessee to the Mildred Genevia Garrett and John Wesley Garrett, Sr.
Darrell received his education in the Davidson County School System.
Some of Darrell’s greatest joys was cooking, watching TV, and listening to music. Darrell had a wonderful sprit and a beautiful smile. Darrell loved everyone and everyone loved him who came in contact with him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Geneva Garrett; father, John Wesley Garrett, Sr.; brother, John Wesley Garrett, Jr.; and nephew, Senneca Shaw.
Darrell leaves to cherish his memory and love to his very devoted, long time companion, Roberta Smelly; two devoted sons, Jermiah (Shonda) Smelly, and Joseph Smelly; devoted brother, Ronnie Garrett; devoted sister, Gwendolyn Garrett; devoted nephew, Mario Garrett; devoted friend, Darrell (Doright) Rucker; devoted cousins, Carolyn and (Roy) Hill; a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
