Dorothy Sue Nicholson entered into life on October 7, 1942 in Springfield, Tennessee to the late John McClain and Edna Bell McClain.
Dorothy departed this earthly life to eternal rest on Friday, December 29, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Dorothy received her education at Robertson County Schools. She graduated from Bransford High School in 1961. She was a certified computer programmer from Nashville Trade School.
Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age at Beard’s Chapel M. B. Church in Springfield, TN. While a member of the church she wore many hats. She was a pastor aid, sung in the senior choir, she was on the Mother’s board and culinary ministry.
Throughout her working career she was employed by several companies but the one she was most proud of was Baptist Hospital. Where she retired after 25 years of loyal service as a baker. After retiring she danced for 12 years as a Lobby High Stepper, Played bingo at the 15th Avenue Baptist Church, played cards for senior citizen but most of all she loved to travel to many foreign countries and at all of her pass time she love to fish. Of which she cherished sharing with her son and great granddaughters. With all of this begin said, she had a heart of gold and never met a stranger.
Dorothy married her High School sweetheart, William B. Nicholson in December 8, 1962. To this union four children were born.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William B. Nicholson; and two still born children.
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughter, Phylesta Nicholson; son, Phillip Nicholson, both of Nashville; two granddaughters, LaKisha (Greg) Butler and LaToya Nicholson, both of Nashville; grandson, John Vaughn of Nashville; two great granddaughters, Kanetta Nicholson and Akira Butler, both of Nashville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
