Earline Dowdy was the seventh child of the late Minnie and David Dowdy, born May 13, 1958 in Nashville, Tennessee. Earlene made her peaceful journey from this world to a place of eternal rest on Sunday March 20, 2016.
Earline attended Metropolitan Nashville Davidson County Public School and was a graduate of North High School, Class of 1977. In her earlier years, Earlene was employed as a caregiver and spent the latter years of her life with her family.
Earline united with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at the age of nine and was baptized under the pastorate of Pastor William Scruggs where she served in the choir. Earlene loved worshipping God, attending church and was a dedicated, loving, faithful servant and demonstrated this love through her commitment of serving many and helping out in various areas whenever help was needed.
Earline loved unconditionally and expressed her loved while raising her children, welcoming many into her home and lending a hand. Spending time with children, grandchildren, family and friends brought her joy whether it was at church, in the park or at family cookouts.
Earline’s smile was a ray of sunshine and she never met a stranger. Her thoughtful service, unconditional love and big heart will be forever remembered and missed.
Although she is gone, her joyful heart and effervescent personality remains in our memory and will continue to sustain us. She touched so many lives, was greatly loved and will be fondly remember by all who knew her.
