Eddie L. Coley Sr. 63 of Nashville transitioned on June 15, 2020 at Nashville VA Medical Center. Preceded in death by the mother, of his children and loving wife, Anita Coley. Preceded in death mother, Laura Mae Coley and father, Mozel Coley. Preceded siblings: Alberta Gaines, Laura White, Bobby Coley, Charlie Coley, Mozelle Coley Jr, and Joseph Coley.
Eddie was born in Dooley Co, Vienna, Ga. He dedicated his life to Christ at Springhill Baptist Church. He attended Wilcox High School in Ga.
Eddie and Anita were married June 17, 1978.
Eddie enlisted in the United States Army on February 1977. April 1987 he was honorable discharged as Staff Sargent with many awards, ribbons and medals.
Eddie retired from US Veterans Affairs with more than a collective 30 years of service.
Eddie was an avid mechanic, loved fishing and coaching youth football with Waverly Belmont Bulldogs.
Eddie leaves to rejoice in his memory daughters: April (Michael) Calvin, Shaticka (Duane) Robinson, sons: Eddie L. Coley Jr., William Mozell Coley; 6 grandchildren: Michael Calvin Jr, Myca Calvin, Destiny Rainer, Iyana Rainer, Mekhia Rainer, Master Rainer II;Siblings: brother: Marvin Coley, sisters: Annie Pearl (William) Mills, Rosie (Richard) Ward, Loreather Coley, Gwendolyn (William) Jackson, Loretta Campbell, Gloria Smothers, Mary (Marvin) Johnson. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Theodore Thompson, sister-in-law, Delores (Bishop A. T.) Griffey, sister-in-law, Robin Thompson, brother-in-law, James (Terri) Thompson. He also leaves behind his devoted Nashville Edwards Family. Special friends, Leslie Murdic, Waverly Belmont Bulldogs, VA friends and Co-Workers, Life Care Adult Day Center, Lonnie Watkins, Coach Mike G, Coach Wayne Brown, and Terry Tate. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
