Mr. Edward Irvin Jones was born January 16, 1932 in Jacksonville, Florida to the parents of Wilson and Vivian Jones.
He retired from the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital dietetics services, December 1996 and Environmental services, Vanderbilt Hospital February 2009.
Ed served his country in the Korean War in the brand of the Army and was honorably discharged.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn W. Jones; son, Amaha (Stephanie) Selassie; daughters, Ashley Jones, Bathsheba (Terry) Lawrence and Debra Perry; sister, Vivian Hill; brother, Robert King; sisters-in-law, Shirley Smith and Darlene (John) Johnson; brother-in-law, Fred (Faye) Woodard; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
