Elease Jones Reed was born on November 1, 1937, in Delrose, TN, to Emma Jones. She departed this life on July 20, 2022 in Nashville, TN with her faithful husband and children by her side. She was preceded in death by her mother and her sister, Ruth Sadler.
Elease accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Suggs Chapel AME Church. In her later years, she united with Victory Baptist Church in Nashville, TN. Elease received her formal education in the Lincoln County, TN School System and graduated from West End High School in 1956.
She married the love of her life, her soul mate, Carl Harris Reed on October 8, 1958. To this union three children were born, Carl, Carnita, and Carone. She had a special mother/son bond with her grandson, Antonio and they raised him along with their children in a loving Christian home.
Her family meant the world to her. As a faithful wife, mother and grandmother, she held the most challenging and the most rewarding job in the world, “a Loving Homemaker” Serving her family was a joy and she did it with much love, grace and compassion.
Elease enjoyed baking, fishing, shopping, word search puzzles and most of all, she loved her church. She cherished baking deserts and preparing Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners as this allowed her to spend special time with her family. She never met a stranger, and her quick wit made it easy for her to connect with friends and family. She loved laughing and her positive outlook led her to find the best in everyone.
Elease will be greatly missed and she leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted husband, Carl H.
