Elizabeth M. Boardman, 88, of Madison, Tennessee, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 surrounded by family.
Ms. Boardman was born April 20 ,1930 in Nashville, Tennessee. After high school, she trained as a nurse at Vanderbilt and worked in pediatrics before enlisting in the U. S. Air Force in 1953 and serving in Lackland, Texas.
Ms. Boardman loved learning, especially about history and genealogy. She always had a special place in her heart for the south west and could not get enough of old western movies and novels. She loved showing off the art work and gifts made for her by her children and grandchildren.
Ms. Boardman loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her loving daughter Donna (Boardman) Phillips and is survived by her loving daughters Susan Boardman, Lori (Jody) Boardman Fly, and Paula Boardman. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Isaiah Phillips, Dylan Fly, and Leslie (Fly) Ward and husband Adam Ward and great grandchildren Ailidh and Ewan Ward. She also leaves behind beloved honorary family Jon and Leslie Welch and their daughters Molly and Annie Welch.
Ms. Boardman was a strong and resilient woman who never met a challenge she couldn’t face head on. She worked tirelessly to take care of her family and give them more opportunities than she had growing up. She was a loving and giving mother who was always there for her children, grandchildren, and honorary family no matter the time of night or day. She will be greatly missed.
