Mother Eunice Hammonds Tucker

September 25, 1938 — June 25, 2018

Mother Eunice Deloris Hammonds Tucker was born September 25, 1938 in Pulaski, TN to Deacon Vacie Hammonds, Sr. and Mother Clora Nelson Hammonds. On June 25, 2018 God called Mother Tucker to rest.

Mother Tucker was educated in the Giles County Public Schools. Later she married Harris Tucker, Sr and of this union two children were born. For many years she worked as a private duty caregiver. She touched many lives in her church and her community.
Mother Tucker accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Pulaski, TN by the late Reverend Oliver. She later moved to Nashville, TN. The she joined Swift Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Elder Freeman Geter, Sr.

Mother Tucker later became a member of Good Samaritan Baptist Church in February 1962 and remained until the doors closed in June 2016. On August of 2016 she became a member of Kayne Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Harmon E. Stockdale, Jr.

Her smile and giving to others were so unique. We will miss her beautiful smile. She held several offices and was very dedicated in her church. She loved her family, her church and friends.

Mother Tucker was preceded in death by her parents, Deacon Vacie Hammonds, Sr., and Mother Clora Nelson Hammonds; five brothers, James McKinley Hammonds Sr., Van Hammonds Sr., Otis Hammonds, Vacie Hammonds Jr., and Bobby Hammonds.

She leaves to cherish her memories her two children, Bennett Tucker Jr., and Sharon Tucker-Couch; two brothers, Roger Hammonds and Thomas (Mary) Hammonds, of Pulaski, TN; four grandchildren, Bennett (Darlene) Tucker, devoted granddaughter, Candace Cosey, Howard DeShawn Kelton, and Corey Tucker; 13 great grandchildren; devoted son, Vincent Collier; God daughter, Kathy Lewis; devoted daughter-in-law, Djuana Hodges; sisters-in-law, Margaret Hammonds, Mae Frances Hammonds and Alma Jean Hammonds; devoted friends, Mary Jones and Henrietta Rivers; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
