Ewanda Renee Horton-Johnson was born on April 9, 1961 to the parents of Winnie Corrine Jones Johnson and Lawrence Molton Johnson in Nashville, Tennessee. She transitioned Saturday, June 24, 2017 at her residence with her family at her side.

Ewanda graduated from North High School in the late 1970’s in Nashville, Tennessee. She started her domestic career early at Best Western Hotel and ended at Haynes Garden Apartments after 17 years of employment.

Ewanda was definitely the life of any party. She loved cooking, decorating and fashion to express her sense of style.

Ewanda accepted Christ at an early age. She later joined Unity Christian Church under the leader ship of Pastor Michael Smith.

Ewanda loved animals, especially her dog-Smokey, who received the greatest of care.

Ewanda was preceded in death father, Lawrence Johnson; mother, Winnie Corrine Jones Johnson; sister, Annie Fuqua and Cheryl Johnson; brother, Michael Johnson; devoted friends, Margaret Groves and Pamela Roberts;

She leaves to cherish her memories are: devoted finance, David Humble; sons, Antonio (Kisha) Petway and Ricky (Telkie) Johnson; daughters, Naquita Petway (Cordell) and Cortana Horton; sisters, Glenary (Joe) Veatrice and Carolyn Johnson, both of Nashville, TN; brothers, Andrew (Ellen) Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA., Lawrence (Ruth) Johnson and Cleo (Karlen) Johnson of Nashville, TN; 19 grandchildren; loving dog, Smokey; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends; devoted friends, Bobbie Jean Harvin, Jeff Gray (son), Sherron Wilson, Kim Battle, Spencer Davis, James Garrett, Leo White, Tamisha Newson, William Douglas, Jr., Fran Harris, the Allen family, the Moore family, the Humble family, the Haynes Garden family and many many other friends that she loved fare and near.
