Folia Mae Reed born March 4, 1939 to the late Lawrence Powers and Hattie Powers in Clarksville, TN. She was called home on March 30, 2018.
Folia Mae was educated in the Montgomery County School System and attend Burt High School class of 1957. She is a former member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Folia Mae was united in Holy Matrimony on February 14,1956 to Clarence E. Reed, Sr., they celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Folia Mae was employed at St. Thomas West Hospital until she retired in 2004.
Folia enjoyed life, loved her family and loved cooking her favorite food, turnip greens. She loved the Spring and Summer time; she would spend most of the day getting her hands dirty planting flowers. Her favorite holiday was Christmas; she looked forward to decorating her tree and putting up Christmas lights and decorations. She was a very friendly, out spoken person; she loved talking to people and would strike up a conversation with anybody.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clarence E. Reed, Jr., a brother, Louis Powers and a sister, Albertine McCoin
Folia leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Clarence E. Reed, Sr; children, Beverly Northern, Wanda (Charles) Pierce and Cedric Reed; grandchildren, Shameka (Anthony) Britton, Shonda (Ray) Bass, Camille Carswell, Carla Carswell, Carl Carswell, II and Charles Pierce II; great grandchildren, Cortez Joyce, Kayla Spicer and Ke’Aria Carswell; one great great son, Chase Spicer; siblings, Alberta Rogers, Deorginary Powers and Karen (Henry) Trotter; in-laws Bernice Reed, Sandra Hutchinson, Carolyn (Clifton) Lewis, Sonya (Bobby) McGlown, Orlando (Christy) Reed, James (Jessie) Reed, Maurice (Suzette) Reed and Willie (Raquel) Reed; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; devoted friends, Marva Bryant and Yvonne Donelson.
