George E. Thompson, II (Big George) was born to George E. ompson, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth on July 15, 1946 in Nashville, TN. He departed this earthly life to live with his heavenly father Wednesday, June 20, 2018.
George was united in marriage to Beverly Newman on September 3, 1989. ey raised two children, Chantell and George (Lil George).
George attended the Metro public schools in Nashville, TN. He was employed by numerous companies and hospitals in Nashville, TN.
George was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many in the West Nashville community. He was an avid sports fan of all sports including drag racing and he loved to go shing. He will truly by missed by family and friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr and Mary Elizabeth; sister, Beverly Beech and brother, Kenneth ompson.
He leaves to cherish his fond and precious memories; a devoted wife, Beverly ompson; son, George III; daughter, Chantell (Steve) May eld; grandchildren, Coreyon, Alana and Brandon May eld; sisters, Sandra Welch (Herbert) and Marilyn Haley; sisters-in-law, Sharon, Elaine and Patrice (Nelson) Idhen; and a host nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
