Gloria F. Brown was born on December 30, 1948, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Wesley L. Davis, Sr. and the late Ada Mae (Copeland) Davis.
She was raised in a Christian home by her maternal grandparents, the late Joseph McKinley Copeland, and the late Cora Mae (Freeman) Copeland. Gloria graduated from Howard High School in Chattanooga, TN in 1966 and attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN.
Gloria was formally married to the late Jerome Flakes on July 12, 1971. From this union two children were born.
She married Vandeleer Brown on October 12, 1996, and relocated to Nashville, TN. After moving to Nashville, she joined First Baptist Church of South Inglewood where she worked with various groups until her health declined.
Gloria enjoyed watching old westerns on TV, playing Gin Rummy with her husband, Vandeleer and playing games on her I Pad.
In passing she leaves to mourn her devoted husband of 25 years Vandeleer Brown; daughter Shannon (John) Williams, Christopher (Pamela) Flakes; bonus children: Johnny T. Brown, William T. Brown, Deandra Brown, Anthony M. Brown: brother Wesley L. (Geraline) Davis, Jr., sister Deborah (George) Howard: In-laws: Virginia Brown, Peggie Brown, William (Marshalene) Brown, Cherlyle Brown. She is also survived by her aunt Mollie Wilkerson and uncle William L. Copeland; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
