Gloria Jean Waters Leggs was born in Nashville, Tennessee to Mr. Wilbon and Mrs. Gladys Waters. Both parents have preceded her in death along with her brother, Wilbon Ray Waters.
She was born on January 6, 1952 and departed this life September 28, 2020. Gloria was educated in Metro Nashville Public Schools. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Tennessee State University. She worked as a Psychiatric Registered Nurse with several mental health institutions and home health agencies within Middle Tennessee.
Gloria genuinely enjoyed working with the mentally challenged. She helped them to overcome the unique challenges associated with a mental health diagnosis. As a nurturing and compassionate essential worker, she worked diligently to improve the quality of life for patients in her care. Nursing was her life’s calling.
She had several passions. Gloria was an avid reader, writer, and a movie buff. She had a joy for cooking and interior design. Her eye for high fashion was expressed in a wardrobe of bold and beautiful colors. Her absolute joy was spending time with family and friends.
She knew the Lord and developed a personal relationship with Christ. She will be remembered for being a genuine and caring mother and supportive friend.
Gloria Jean leaves behind to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted daughter. Christina was committed to ensuring her mother received the quality of care and love she so freely gave throughout her life.
