God called home another warrior, Gwendolyn Stover , who transitioned from this life and entered into eternal rest on September 25th, 2021. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church in Nashville, TN.
She was Preceded in death by her mother and father, Ruby Fizer Lane & Villa Lane; Brothers, John Fizer, Waymond & Raymond Lane; granddaughter, Adrienne Alexander; and niece, Letitia Lane.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Pamela Brown, and Angela (Glenn) Scrivens; sons, Larry (Peggy) & Raymond Brown, and Donald & Ronald Stover; sisters, Helen & Robbie Lane, and Wilma (Chuck) Taylor; grandchildren, Laysha & Tayla Brown, Bridje’ (Isaiah) Yarbrough, Brionna & Glenn,II Scrivens, and D’Aris Sowell; great-grandchildren, Zion, Shiloh, and Trinity Brunson, and Elijah & Tucker Sowell; nieces, Patrice (James) Morris, Sharhonda Lane, Tiffany Barnett, and Tiara Sanders; nephews, Antoine (Narvette) and Shawn (Devolia) Lane; Bonus daughter, Viveca Briggance, a host of cousins, and friends. Devoted friends, Mary Ann Jenkins, Helen Streeter Copeland, Betty Burgess, Mary McKissack., Louella Murray, Gayle Mayes, Rev. Melvina Blanch, and a host of loving 15th Ave. Church family members. Loyal neighbors, Kenneth & Faye Jones, Angie Royster, The Hill family, and Saundra & Leo Washington.
Gwen had a sweet spirit. She loved God, her family, and her church/members. She valued her friendships, and she always chose to see the best in everyone.
She was an alumni of Haynes High in Nashville. She attended TSU, and completed the nursing program at Meharry Medical College where she enjoyed working for over 45yrs. She was a research counselor at TSU Center of Excellence in Early Childhood Ed. for 10yrs. She was an advocate for life insurance, as she happen to be an agent for Primerica Financial Services. Later, after retirement, she embarked on yet another way to help & uplift people; she put back on her nursing scrubs and joined the work force at Knowles Assisted Living Facility, retiring only in Jan. 2021. She loved her work there, and the friendships she acquired.
She will be greatly missed by all!
