Age 91 of Nashville, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Wednesday November 9, 2022.
He is Preceded in death by his father, Joseph T. Ellison, Sr.; mother, Pearlie E. Wright Ellison; brother, Joseph T. Ellison, Jr.; sister, Toretta I. Ellison Wright; son, Thaddeus “Bobby” Smith.
He leaves to mourn his passing four children: Sandra (William) Johnson of Indianapolis, IN; Lynn Summers; Rhonda Ellison and James H. Ellison, Jr.; devoted son-in-love Cedric Aaron and devoted daughter-in-love Deborah Ellison; nephews, Thomas (Diane) Ellison, Knightdale, NC and Kerry (Noelva) Ellison, Downey, CA. Grandchildren: William (Viva) Dotson, YoLanda (Terence) McGlory, Anita Johnson, Alysia Ellison, Kevin Johnson, Briona (Samuel) Richardson, Shirah Ellison, James H. Ellison,III; 17 Great-Grandchildren; 8 Great Nieces and Nephews; 6 Great-Great Grandchildren; Cousins Johnnie and Loren Dial Fenton. He was a proud God-Grandfather to the Martinez Family. Close family friends, Irma Jean Westbrook and son La’Monte’, Robert (Smokie) Flemmons, Patricia Winfield, Dr. Rosalyn Nicholas, Jake Sherrill and Jimmy Fox. Special thanks and love to Effie Hargrove.
