James Henry Gilliam

Mr. James H. Gilliam was born November 13, 1945 in Wilson County to the late John H. Gilliam and Isabell Harris Gilliam. He departed this life on August 12, 2021 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was preceded by death by daughter Christina Gilliam.


James accepted Christ at Strait Word Church in November 2010.
James was educated in the Wilson County School System. He also attended Tennessee State University. He was a member of the United States Army where he served as a clerk. After leaving the army he became a truck driver until he retired.


James loved fishing and spending time with family.


James Gilliam leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Landa (Saul) Badjie of England; five grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Christine (Robert) Wright of Cincinnati, OH, and Claire Coffey of Nashville, TN. He was also blessed with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; companion of many years Gloria Tuggle; close friends, Jim Brown and Rhoda Huddleston.
