Mr. James Culver Holland was born on June 19, 1941 to the union of John and Gladys Holland in Springfield, Tn. He peacefully transitioned on Sunday, August 26, 2018.
James accepted Christ at an early age at the Original Church of God.
Mr. Holland was educated in the Davidson County School system, graduating from Pearl High School in 1959. He continued his education at Tennessee State University, receiving his degree in Education in 1971.
He was employed at Keystone Plant, Firestone Plant and Genesco.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr.& Mrs. John and Gladys Holland; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Wiley and Mary Frances Holland, granddaughter, Jasmine “Angel” Holland and brother, John L. Holland.
James hobbies were football: A true fan of Tennessee Titans and Tennessee State University, cars, gardening, home improvements and renovations. He was gifted with talents always genuine, generous and kind.. It was never about him-----hmmmm.
His motto was: LORD HELP ME TO LIVE FOR OTHERS, THAT I MAY LIVE FOR THEE, AND AT THE END TO FIND ETERNAL LIFE.
GOD in his infinite wisdom, deemed it necessary to call from our Midst. JAMES CULVER HOLLAND KNOWN AS “SPARKY” leaves to cherish his memory two loving daughters, Valerie and Deborah Holland; devoted sisters, Betty Holland and Mary Waller; four grandchildren, James L. Stockard, DeAndre and Darius Holland; loving granddaughter, Alexis Figgins; seven great-grandchildren, Jasmine Harris, Angelena Hayes, James Stockard Jr., Jordynn, James, Jaiden and Jayce Sweatt; sister in law, Vera Holland; devoted companion, Frances Hargrove; devoted niece, Lisa Southall; devoted cousin, Joe (Mary) Larry; A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; devoted friends, Shirley (Milton) McClain, Maurice Jordan, Michael “MJ”Jordan , Steve Lockhart, Jasper Tucker Jr. James Lockett, Lewis McBride, Hosea Anderson and Larry Patton Sr.
