James Howard Manning, Sr. was born December 1, 1953, in Lebanon, TN, and departed this earthly life April 6, 2019, in Nashville, TN. His parents are the late Burnice Manning, Sr. and Margie Manning.
James was educated in the Davidson County School System; after which, he served in the U.S. Army. James was united in holy matrimony to Debra Rochelle Norman on June 30, 1979; from this union came two children – Monica and James, Jr. As a means to support his family, James was employed at Krispy Kreme for 39 years until his retirement.
James professed his faith in Christ, becoming a member at Cleveland Street Baptist Church, serving faithfully on the Trustee Board until God called him home. Even as his health declined, James maintained his quick wit, humor and desire to love those who crossed his path. Further, he would routinely profess his belief in Christ. He was strong in stature and in his belief of God's purpose for him.
