Janet Ann Harris Oglesby was born in Nashville, Tennessee on February 21, 1960 to Christine and Preston Oglesby, Jr. Janet eternal rest on June 4, 2014.
Janet was educated in the Nashville Public School System. She was employed by DC 4 with the Metro County for many years. In 1999, she re-dedicated her life to Christ. Janet devoted her time to the AA Community in which she helped change many lives. She volunteered at the women’s prison, and she always lended a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She was also a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Janet was preceded in death by her mother, Christine Oglesby; father, Preston Oglesby; and brother, Michael Crawl.
She leaves to cherish her memory, devoted sons, Michael James Newbell and Preston Tyrell Newbell; loving and devoted daughters, Samantha Ann Harris, Taylor Collette Harris, and Tatum (Leo) Campbell; loving and devoted sister, Jeri Oglesby; loving brothers, Vincent Oglesby, Ralph Crawl, David (Patrice) Oglesby, and Norman (Mary) Stapler; grandchildren, Sarah, Madison, Casey, Kilea, Michael Jr., Donte Jr., Taliyah and Aubree; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends; devoted friends, Betty Hardison, and James “Bruh” Harris, and other relatives and friends.
