Janice Denise Battle, age 60 transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Saturday, December 26, 2020.
Janice Denise Battle a native of Nashville, TN to Isaac Berry and the late Avery Berry on December 2, 1960. She was educated in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System. At the time of her passing she was employed by Metro Board of Education and YMCA for 20 years.
Janice was a devoted member of Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She served in many ministries, her favorite was being a part of the Esteemed Lady Doves, as well as serving after church in the “Corner Store”.
Janice is better known as Jan Jan had a very pleasing way about her. She always kept a smile on her face. Her most valued trait was in her giving. She made sure that her family and friends never went without. There was no favor too big. Janice LOVED and LIVED for her family. She was the anchor for her household, best friend to her son and daughter, and a rock for her husband. If there were ever a time that you couldn’t reach her most likely she was shopping at the dollar store, playing cards, Traveling with the “Wolf Pack” (Faye, Nita, & Fred) up the road at the casino, helping someone purchase a car, or decorating a family members house.
Janice was preceded in death by her mother, Avery Berry and dog, Diamond.
Janice is survived by loved ones to cherish her memories, father, Isaac Berry; husband, Fred Battle Sr; son, Santia Harvell III, Santia Harvell (JoJo), Fred Battle Jr; daughters, Isaaca Harvell; grandchildren, Santiea Harvell, Dreshawn Harvell, Skylar Harvell and Onyx Overall; siblings, Geraldine Hughes, Faye Hudson, Isaac (Gracie) Berry Jr., Joyce (Sterling) Harris, Kenneth (Annette) Berry, Roger (Denise) Berry, Phyllis (Devoe) Cornell, Will Battle III, Marlene Sims and Freddie Battle; and a host of uncles, nieces, and great nieces (the Berry Girls), nephews, cousins, and friends.
