Jaz Martin Davis

February 13, 1992 — April 10, 2021

Jaz Martin Davis was born on February 13, 1992 in Madison, TN to the parents of Glen Davis and Renee Martin. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers; Evelyn Martin, Shirley Whitfield and grandfather, Wilbert T. Martin, Sr.

Jaz was a very spiritual man who accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

Jaz spent his early years at Jones Paideia Magnet, Head Middle School, Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet and Hunters Lane High School. He met friends at each school that he kept for his life.

While in high school Jaz continued to develop his skills by being a member of the Training Ground Track Club under the direction of Coach/Owner Radir Annoor and the coaching staff. Jaz was a leader on the team and he led by example, as well as competed on a high level. He had too many track accolades to name but he was especially proud of being crowned TSSAA AAA Boys 200M State Champion. He loved basketball and he was a member of the MLK, Jr. Magnet Boys Basketball City Championship team, was All-City and Defensive Player of the Year. He had many scholarships offers but he accepted to attend the University of Memphis on an athletic and academic scholarship. He had a good career and he left an impression on those he befriended.

Jaz was a seven-year Plant Technician at Nissan North America. He was especially proud to work there because his Dad is 31-year employee.

Jaz was such a good person. He accepted you for the person you were. His smile and his laugh were infectious. Besides sports he loved his family, working out, eating, hanging with “his dudes”, and traveling, especially to Destin Beach. He loved the beach. He lived his life to the fullest.

Jaz was truly loved and he will be missed. He leaves to cherish his parents Glen Davis and Renee Martin; sister Autumn Davis Graham; aunts Veona Martin and Rosalind Honeycutt; uncles Wilbert (Yvonne) Martin, Keith (LaTanya) Davis, Gregory (Kathy) Davis, and Wacinque W. Bandy; devoted cousins Kyieta (Jeremy), Randy, Antwain, Veronica, and Thomas (Shannon) Martin; special cousins Brenda (Mike) Williams, Linda (Donnie) Jones, Nichole (Benjamin) Johnson, Isaiah Johnson and Dale Jackson; a special place in his heart for his lil cousins Arye and Anderson; a special friend, Ms. Kendall Jordan, and devoted friends Keeven, Taylor, Damien, Jamal, Baree, Taurian, AZ, Vonn, Georgio, Maurice, Houston, Jamin and Katherine. He loved us all.
