Jewell was preceded in death by son, Jerome Sims; grandsons, Christopher Sims Jr., Dwayne Sims, and Jewell Sims III.
Those left to celebrate his life and carry on his legacy: loving & devoted wife, Sarah Waters Sims; devoted son, Joshua E. Sims; loving and caring children, Regina A. Smith, Teresa Raines, Vickey Sims, Jewell Sims Jr., Reggie (Sharron Birdsong) Sims Sr., Dominic Sims, Darryl Sims, and Christopher Sims , Sr. grandchildren, Latasha Brookes, Peter Smith III, Cheresa Raines, Chermaine Raines, Taronda Sims, Tyresha Sims, Shalonda Gaines, Britney Merritt, Bianca Merritt, Reggie T. Sims Jr., Sherika Sims, Micheal Sims, D’montae Sims, Keytoria Sims, Darryl Sims Jr., Cherish Sims, Alexandrea Sims, and Gianni Sims; devoted brothers, Larry (Lynette) Sims and Samuel (Bernice) Sims, Jr; sisters- in-law, Mattie (Douglas) Hendricks, Nora Waters, Roberta Waters, and Juanita Waters; brothers-in-law, Mayes (Grace) Waters, David (Lavonia) Waters, Steven Waters, and James Hunt, Jr; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and host of cousins.
Jewell leaves many devoted friends, The Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church Family & The Carl Black Chevrolet Family.
