Friday afternoon, October 6, 2017 Jo Essie Patterson made a quite and beautiful transition from this earthly life to her heavenly home.
Jo Essie Patterson was born November 22, 1950 in Eads, Tennessee to the parents of Richard Patterson and Mary Frances (Redd) Patterson.
Jo’s faith in the Lord was rooted in a strong Christian heritage. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age.
Jo was educated in the public schools in West Tennessee and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee where she then unique distinction of attending and received her Bachelors and Masters degrees at Tennessee State University also, she received her second Masters degree from David Lipscomb University.
Jo was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc which she was a proud member.
Jo was united in Holy matrimony to Jimmy Morris, Jr., on September 3, 1995.
Jo was employed by the Metropolitan Board of Education, Human Resources Department for many years where she retired from.
She was preceded in death bye her parents, Richard Paterson and Mary Frances (Redd) Patterson; husband, Jimmie Morris, Jr; sisters, Mary Etta Nelson and Joyce Patterson.
Jo leaves to cherish her memories, sons, Rodney Patterson of Hartsville, TN and Eric Reese of Nashville, TN; sister, Vivian Patterson Williams of Memphis, TN; devoted niece (daughter), Jasmine Loverson of Memphis, TN; granddaughter, Giftney (Vines) Patterson; other nieces, Tonya Wilhite and Courtney Wilhite; nephews, Marvin Wichita II; and a host of other relatives and friends; devoted friends, Marilyn Holloman, Regina Fuller Martin, Maggie Tharpe, Dananna Morency; caregivers, Michael McEwen and Vertrice Willis; other relatives and friends.
