Joann White-Prewitt was born on August 14, 1948, in Nashville, TN to the late Joseph and Jessie Fisher. She closed her eyes to enter her eternal rest on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.
Joann graduated from Metro Nashville Public Schools. She eventually attended college to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at several local hospitals in Nashville and retired from the VA hospital in 2009. Joann showed her caring nature not only thru nursing, but she also loved to cook! She briefly owned a restaurant, and even after the closure, she continued to cook and serve plates to family and close friends.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Jessie Fisher, her son Joseph A. White and her husband Joseph L. Cantrell Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory sons Donald (Cynthia) White and Ahmad Prewitt, grandchildren: Jessica White, Donisha Perry, Tiana Perry and Donald White Jr, Ahmiyah Prewitt, Ahmad Prewitt Jr., and 3 great-grandchildren. Devoted friend Sarah Majors and devoted cousins Newman and Dan (Chonta) Hawkins and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
