John Wesley Begley, Jr. affectionately called “Boonie” was born on July 3, 1939 to Lucinda and John Wesley Begley, Sr. in Antioch, Tennessee.
He was united with Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in the Nashville Public School System, graduating from Haynes High School in 1959.
He was employed with the State of Tennessee, Black and Decker and Path Lab Group. In his spare time he enjoyed football, basketball, baseball, TSU Tigers ,Tennessee Titans, VOL’s and Los Angeles Dodgers.
He is preceded in death by his parents and special aunt Oweda Covington.
He is survived by daughter, L’Tannia (Frank Norman) Williams, Kevin “Bob” Hill; grandchildren, Courtney and Natasha Peebles, Kevin and Joseph Hill and T’Anna Williams; great granddaughter, Sydney Peebles; loving aunts, Vesta Dalton, Dorothy (Stewart) Owens, Ernestine (Jesse) Jones; devoted cousins, Mary and Mitchell Begley as well as a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
